Happy Wednesday everyone, I hope you’ve had a lovely week so far!
Spooky season is well and truly underway ??
I hope you are enjoying cosy evenings and cooler weather (when it’s not raining ??)
Today we’re talking about a scary campaign, event marketing and sharing our journeys!
Let’s get started!!??
With Halloween coming up very soon I’m speaking about a spooky campaign from Burger King.
#ScaryClownNight was an effective Halloween campaign, gaining 2.1 billion impressions.
The message was simple: “Come as a clown, eat like a king”.
During the night of October 31st Burger King said they would give away a Whopper to the first 100 customers that came dressed as a clown.
This made a joke of McDonalds being one of their competitors and got people talking.
What did you think of this?
I’m excited to welcome today’s guest, meet Miller Fowle . She is sharing her experience of event marketing!??
“Hi, I’m Miller! I started my career in marketing just 7 months ago, and what a whirlwind it has been! I absolutely love working in marketing, primarily because of the huge range of tasks that come with the role. It’s certainly not boring! Before working in marketing, I had no idea how extensive the work could be. When I started, it was quite the shock. But I love it! The variety of tasks keeps my mind active and always excited. From content creation and social media management to analytics and strategy development, there's always something new to tackle. My favourite area is event marketing. It's so much fun and aligns perfectly with my project-driven mindset. Seeing a vision come to life from beginning to end just makes my brain happy! There's something incredibly satisfying about planning an event, executing it successfully, and seeing the positive impact it has on attendees and the brand. Many companies overlook event marketing, and understandably so - events aren't for everyone. Exhibiting or attending can be resource-intensive and not always justifiable. However, preparation is key. As the saying goes, "fail to prepare, prepare to fail. " If you're investing time and effort in an event, you must be well-prepared to make it worthwhile. That said, if you have the resources and believe the ROI will validate them, events can be a brilliant way to connect with your clients. They provide a unique opportunity to engage directly with your target audience, showcase your products or services, and build valuable relationships. Events offer real-time feedback, networking with industry peers, and increasing brand visibility. With the right preparation and strategy, events can become a pivotal part of your marketing mix, driving significant business growth and client engagement. From my experience working for a technology company specialising in back-end enforcement software, the events we attend are a massive part of our year and bring in lots of organic business. They allow us to engage with current clients and target audiences, creating memorable and personal experiences that foster brand loyalty and awareness. So, while event marketing may not be suitable for every company, it can offer tremendous benefits for those who invest the necessary time and resources. With careful planning and execution, events can be a powerful tool for driving business growth and enhancing customer relationships."
I love this advice!! Events can be incredible for so many businesses and it’s also a great career route for marketers too. ??
Today’s advice is to push yourself out of your comfort zone.
Take one step towards your goal and make sure to celebrate yourself after.
You are incredible ??
