Tremendous needs across the board remain for Pre-K through High School educators.There is no argument that the need for talented educators and real solutions is stronger than ever, especially in our nation's challenged communities. Millions of students who possess a depth of skills, strong character traits, dreams, and hope for the future deserve the best we can give them.

In the past five years, our Foundation has worked hand-in-hand with schools to attack the problem of low graduation rates amongst a host of other challenges through a purposeful and focused intent on student-athlete development programming.
Think about this, if 20-25% of your school enrollment is graduating at 95% or higher, it will move the needle for all students. We have witnessed this occur in Staten Island, NY, at Curtis High School, Newark, NJ, at Shabazz High School, Allentown School District, PA, and elsewhere.
It's not simply participation in athletics that makes the difference, it has to be the right kind of sport experience. Caring adult mentors, coaches, teachers can have tremendous success with solid, stable partners and the right platform.
So let's continue this conversation: Where is the narrative changing? and, How is it being done?

9 年The biggest factor for us has been raising o our Minimum standard to coincide with graduation needs. Raising the standard has not hurt the game, but has made everyone more aware of what's expected and Necessary. The old theory knowledge is power is true. If they look at just eligibility graduation won't move, awareness raises the bar.
