Let's talk about empowerment

Let's talk about empowerment

Happy Wednesday everyone, I hope you’ve had a lovely week so far!

I can’t believe it’s March already, I feel like January was a long month but the year as FLOWN since then.

As it’s International Women’s Day this week I thought it would be nice to make my advice and prompts centred around women empowerment!??

Today we’re talking about the menopause, celebrating yourself and sharing some much needed reminders!

Let’s get started!!??

When I was researching ads to speak about today I came across #LastLonelyMenopause by TENA ??

This campaign is centred on changing the narrative around the menopause, encouraging intergenerational discussions. I love the concept and feel like it isn’t something that a lot of businesses speak up on.

The ad follows a mum navigating the menopause, with her daughter seeing what she’s going through and asking what the menopause is like. This shows how organically the topic can come up and how important it is to have those conversations with loved ones.

There needs to be more awareness around menopause and how women can be supported more in the workplace during that time. It would be great to see more brands supporting this!

I’m excited to welcome today’s guest, meet Kamya Marwah ! She is sharing some important reminders with you all??

“Hey there, I hope you’re doing great!

I am Kamya, a final year student at UCL studying IT & Business with a passion for all things marketing & strategy.

Being a student-marketer and a passionate entrepreneur (Founder of my small business, Kamya’s Art Studio), here a few things I want to say in a world that feels like a marathon;

→ Its your own journey. It won’t be the same as those of others.

I didn’t get a formal internship at a bank or the Big 4 during my second year like many around me, but my world didn’t end then, when I thought it would.

Instead, what I gained was 2 internships, that helped me develop my skills, spend summer working on projects I was passionate about and achieving results that are now a big part of my portfolio.

→ Never stop learning.

At the time it may feel like a mere addition to your LinkedIn or CV, but no learning goes waste, and the practical application of it becomes evident when the opportunity arises.

In the dynamic field of marketing, staying ahead of new trends, platform features, and algorithms positions you to engage in valuable conversations and join communities.

→ Believe in yourself.

My morning coffee takes longer to make than it takes me to compare myself to others. But only if that comparison would really lead me somewhere would it be worth my time and energy.

Embrace the learning curve, and believe in your passion and goals - its not impossible.

I hope this was a kind reminder of the things we often forget.”

I love this! When you’re quite young it’s so easy to compare yourself to others and feel bad about it. Just because you aren’t doing the exact same thing as those around you doesn’t mean that you’re behind??

Today’s advice is to compliment yourself!

It’s really easy to be hard on yourself and not give yourself the celebration that you deserve.

So after reading those lovely reminders from Kamya I want you to take time to reflect and to acknowledge all of the progress you’re making.

Compliment yourself and think of the things you’ve done that your past self would be so so excited about!

You are incredible??

Today my post prompt is to share three creators whose content you love to see! Let us know why you love to see posts from them.
