Let's Talk about CI/CD!
Let's Talk about CI/CD!
With the first Merging to Main episode under wraps, we can officially say it was a ton of fun and an incredibly interactive experience. Thank you to everyone in the community who supported us, asked terrific questions, and made it a successful kickoff. Fortunately, that is only the beginning, with another episode coming early next month and an exciting mystery event scheduled for early May. If you want to catch the recording for the first episode of Merging to Main, you can find it below.
The Highlights
Build Cache Enhancements
Reducing your build times is critical to reducing the feedback loop for developers. We are continuing to make big improvements to the caching mechanisms and giving you finite control when needed. For example, our build step allows you to specify additional cache sources to ensure that your build will always hit a viable cache for speedy results using the "cache-from" annotation.
Enhanced Slack Notifications
It can be easy to miss critical information about your build process when your heads down and focused on coding or catching up on Slack messages. We have added capabilities to our Slack notifications to provide more detailed feedback on failed builds so you have the information you need to react appropriately and promptly.
Argo CD 2.6
While we are making significant changes in Codefresh, we are also continuing to invest in the Argo Project. We're excited about the new features from the 2.6 release!?
Applications and ApplicationSets are getting added flexibility with the ability to specify multiple sources for the application and set the order in which the ApplicationSet will create the applications in a progressive rollout.?
You now have these capabilities and many more, like config management plugin parameterization, metadata labels for automatically created namespaces, and more available in Codefresh.
