Let's talk about BOOZE...
And birthdays. :-)
Good heavens, it is late! I should have been writing this at 7am... but it was Mum's birthday and we had a distanced "huddle" under the car port with distanced nibbles and distanced beers... side note: is anyone getting mildly perturbed with feeling like you have to write the word 'distanced' in front of anything that could be remotely construed as a breach in the restrictions, just in case someone is going to jump on your comment and have the ol' Bill on you? I am, so from hereon, I am abstaining from the use of the word 'distanced' where it ought to be assumed!
ANYWAY - IT WAS SOOOOO LOVELY HAVING A GIGGLE. And it was really nice having some semblance of a celebrations for mum. I really enjoyed it, I'm sure Mum did, too. And she also mentioned the lovely comments you all put on yesterday's post for her. She tried to reply to you all personally, I think she is having to do that in shifts! :-)
Thank you for this. I am really grateful. x
Having mentioned the word 'abstaining', you know that this is something I have been doing for a while in a different way lately, with booze. There was another exception last night, because I drank four cans of Abbot Ale at Mum's and it was lovely... I felt all giggly and merry and it was really nice to have a celebratory glug... until the fog came this morning. Again. And I am feeling sluggish, again. Not hung over, no. But sluggish, and foggy, yes. Was it worth it? Barely. I have four more cans left (I bought eight) and I think that might be it for a while. I know I keep talking about booze, but that is because I have brought it into focus to give it some conscious thought. Drinking frequently was becoming a problem, so I took action and moderated my intake, and now I am giving it some thought. Giving up drinking is possible, but I am not all that sure it's worth saying I'll not drink again, because I will, but I am not altogether sure WHY! Anyway, this subject will continue to take up some of my thinking over the coming weeks and months. I'm really thankful that I have become aware of it before it became a REAL problem.
It would be interesting to hear if you have any thoughts on booze, and what they are.
Onto something with a bit less depth - video catchups! FB Rooms is MEGA - I have been using it A LOT lately. So much easier than Zoom, and essentially the same. I mentioned it before, but if you haven't tried it, give it a whirl. I think it is FAB.
GREAT NEWS!!! Those 2,000 AMAZING COPIES of We Are The Planets arrived yesterday and it was super exciting, so yet again I'm grateful for all of the support from everyone re getting ShookBop and SVP off the ground. It's really beginning to stand out as a fabulous little book business.
Now, it's about time I got on with some real work, much as I would like to keep 'chatting' with you. Don't forget to tell me what YOU have been up to, I love reading your comments throughout the day. I really hope you are keeping well, and that you are doing things which make you happy. If not - start today! :-)
Big Love. X
