Today I’m speaking about 麦当劳 ‘Make It Yours’

McDonald's has partnered with creative agency Leo Burnett UK for its latest campaign, focusing on the name.

It follows various people as they each call it a different nickname, showing that McDonald's is one of the public places where young people feel welcome and comfortable.

It’s apparently the first McDonald’s campaign targeted explicitly towards 16 to 24-year-olds. To help get it right, Leo Burnett consulted people from that age group through workshops organised with youth network We Rise, and through research in partnership with the Diversity Standards Collective.

I love that this ad is focused on connection and embracing what the brand means to you!??

Hey, I’m Soph & have been working specifically in Social Media marketing for 4 years now.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learnt to keep close to my heart, it’s to be outrageously YOU.

It’s super cliche & cheesy I know but…

I used to spend a lot of my time working alongside influencers & creators for brands, as well as create content for said brands myself.

It was all “Be you, show the products/services but create content you usually create.”

But then be sent a fully scripted monotone essay for you to follow, edit the f*ck out of it 5 times, speak on products/services you don’t believe in & get paid pennies for content that is a world away from the worthy content that is usually made.

It’s exhaustingly sad to see, it’s disheartening & it makes you doubt your abilities.

Of course the facts, the data & the strategy need to be taken into account for everything in social content. BUT it’s sometimes forgotten that the content is YOU.

Humans are not robots.

What’s that old saying? People buy from people.

I wholeheartedly believe if you are YOU, just from solely giving off personality & honesty in what you put forward, the right people will stick with you & the wrong people will shy away.

I have spent too long in tiny boxes, being judged in what was called “professional” spaces.

The harm that had on me and a lot of others in my space has been detrimentally damaging and in no way should be a view on a person’s ability to do a job that you have been given the chance to do.

Now, I refuse to ever step foot in that box again!

What I’m trying to say is, never let anyone cut you short of being amazing & getting what you deserve, just because there are a handful who choose to put judgement and greed in business higher than humanity.”

I love this advice!! When someone creates content that feels authentic to them and that shows their personality it makes you feel like you know them and this is such a key part of forming connections online. A huge part of building your own community is finding people that share your values and resonate with your mission??

Today my advice is to set out your non negotiables ??

On social media trends come around fast and platforms make changes. This can make you feel like you have to constantly be online

So today I’m encouraging you to write down three self care non negotiables ?

This could be reading 10 pages of a book every day, having 30 mins in the morning screen free or even one evening with no social media per week.

By focusing on three simple habits you can create wellness moments in your day??
