Let's take an inventory

In performance Management, we say feedback should be immediate hence, we don't have to wait for the next appraisal period. When you notice an error, you correct it immediately and likewise reward good performance as they occur.
However, I have come to realize that we are quick to designing systems that measure departmental, team and individual performance while we have failed woefully to design systems to measure personal performance. So the organization progresses while the driver of culture and Strategy remains stagnant or regressive.
If we think it worthwhile to develop systems and processes that drive the business that raises our paycheck, much more, we should pay attention to the skills, competencies, mindsets and body that houses the brain that does all these.
6 months ago, I wrote, challenging you to set personal SMART goals. Now is the time to take inventory. How much of the goals have been achieved? How many training have you attended, how many self development initiatives have you run by? How many new books have you read and how much of your goals have been achieved.
I tell you the truth friends, only those who strive for the goals get the golds
If you are lagging behind, then put yourself on an improvement plan, if you are in tune with your goal targets, reward yourself with a vacation, a visit to a recreation center, a spa treatment or go get some relaxation.
If you manage your life the way you manage your job or career how well would your life be structured? That is a two edges sword though but worth giving a thought.
