Let′s speed up the process industry
This is clear: The digital transformation is the only way forward. Businesses in the process industries start employing digital solutions at all stages. The degree of digitalization in each case differs significantly, depending on the size of the company, the market, and the technologies used. In this transformation, however, one factor is increasingly important: the speed at which digital solutions are deployed.
Only by a holistic approach optimal solutions can be found. Our concepts for the Digital Enterprise can ensure that all technological conditions are met. From integrated engineering to integrated operations to data-driven services. The commitment to our partners is better production and processes.
How to manage the fast digital transformation
The solution lies in new technology concepts based on industry standards. One of our examples is modular production. It allows machine manufacturers and plant operators to be more flexible in the future. Simatic PCS 7 process control system and Comos engineering software already support modular automation concepts using module type package (MTP).
Creating new opportunities
More flexible production means that processes and system architectures need to become open. That’s why not just our commitment in the areas of norms and standardization ensures system openness on a long-term basis. NAMUR, for example, develops a new standard of a parallel communication channel for asset data with its Namur Open Architecture (NOA). It enables all relevant data to be fed into the cloud. From the field level up to the management level by using the so called second data channel.
Partnership and agility
For us, digitization is associated with changed business processes. In the future, we’ll place greater emphasis on collaborations like with Process Systems Enterprise (PSE), a company from the UK. Together we combine technologies for process modeling with our expertise in simulation.
