Let’s be serious… or perhaps not?

Let’s be serious… or perhaps not?

Each day we are bombarded with so many tasks, interruptions, changes, and sometimes even challenges which keeps us very serious, as we go through the motion of making things happen, of moving through the long list of things that need to get done.

As we grew up. we grew into the serious, and responsible adult we were expected to be. We often forget the fun, the joy, and lightheartedness we experienced when we were a child. We have put ourselves into the box of being an adult, disconnected from our inner child that just wants to come out and play at times.

How many times have you heard these words “be serious!”, “grow up!”, “you can’t act like that as an adult”, or “get your head out the clouds and start being more responsible”. These are the words we all have heard at one point in our life, and we have probably said these very same words to our children, or those close to us. Because lets face it, we are responsible adults, we have got to be serious and do what needs to get done, there is no time for day-dreaming or playing around. Right?

But why is that so? Why can’t we allow our inner child to come out and play more often? Why do we always have to be so serious and keep hustling, and grinding as we go after our dreams? Why not bring the spark of joy, innocence, and fun back into our every day?

Of course, this does not mean we color our hair in rainbow colors, and turn into a complete goofball, but when we bring more of this child-like innocence into our daily life, where we see the beautiful things we often miss because we are so busy working, and making things happen. If we were to just stop ourselves throughout the day and take a moment to just be in the moment, to crack a joke, or tell a funny story, or just do something that puts a big smile on our face. What is so bad about that?

If you were to allow your inner child to come out more often, to let this child-like innocence come out throughout your day, you will experience so much more joy, happiness, and success because you get into the flow of life, into the flow of joy, and into the flow of being present in the moment.

There is nothing wrong with reconnecting with your inner child, with letting your inner child come out and play. You can still be the serious, and responsible adult that you are. But you can do so with that wink in your eyes, that spring in your step, that glow that will radiate out of every fiber of your being, as this is what will happen when you reconnect with, and allow your inner child to shine through you.

Here are six tips to help you reconnect with, and bring forth your inner child:

-       Tune into your heart and connect with the essence of who you are. Feel your essence within your heart, the true self that you are.

-       Go somewhere where you can be undisturbed, and where no one can hear you. When you are undisturbed make funny sounds, laugh, be goofy, talk the baby talk, jump around, do something you would be doing if you were a child. (this may be uncomfortable at first but do it anyways)

-       Visualize yourself as a child, think back at a moment of your childhood where you felt so happy, joyful, and excited and bring that image into your mind. Tune into this memory, the feeling, and the experience. Bring it into your present moment, and bath in this joyful energy for as long as you like.

-       Get some coloring pens, or crayons and some paper and start doodling. This doesn’t have to be perfect just draw whatever you want, even if its non-sense, just let your creative, child-like side come out.

-       Think of something you can do on a daily basis that makes you laugh, that brings you joy, that brings that spark back into your eyes, and the spring back into your step.

-       Joke around more, be goofy, play a fun prank on someone (nothing harmful or cruel).

The key to reconnecting to your inner child is to do something you would normally not do because you may feel silly or inappropriate. You want to reconnect to your child-like innocence and bring more joy into your life, even if it may be challenging at first, but do it anyways. You will feel so much more alive, so much more joyful, and your days become more fun and fulfilling.

You always have a choice to go about your day in a serious, and responsible manor, focusing on your goals, the long list of to-do’s you need to tackle, the calls you need to make, and all the other things you are responsible for. Or.. you can choose to bring more joy, and happiness into your every day by allowing your inner child to come out and play. To be in the flow and laugh more often, to take things less seriously, and to see the fun side in things, to see the beauty that is all around you, and to be open to greater possibilities.

The Beings of Light shared a powerful message about reconnecting with our inner child:

Allow your inner child to come out and play more often, this childlike innocence and joy has the power to brighten up your life and every day therein. Your inner child has been locked away for such a long time, cast aside by the serious and responsible adult you have become, with your inner child side completely forgotten.
What many see as childish, or inappropriate to do as an adult, is only a means to fit within the box of adulthood, but your inner child is still there, it’s part of you! This inner child is what lets you have great joy, do things without care if others disapprove, it can give you a sense of freedom you have long forgotten.
Why not reconnect with your inner child more often? Let it come out and play! Go for a stroll in the park, so to speak, and let it run free. This does not mean to go wild, and become irresponsible, but to bring more of this childlike joy, innocence, and excitement into your every day.
What can you do today to let this inner child side of yourself come to the forefront? This beautiful, and vibrant innocence that only sees the good things in life. Let your inner light shine by reconnecting to your inner child. It’s OK to be funny and goofy, this will brighten up your day… each and every day if you allow it.

One does not visualise to be a child and child like innocence. If one goes in to deep meditation, innocence blooms within oneself that one can cherish-my opinion.
