Let’s Ring in the Year of Credibility

Welcome to "Staying Relevant with Mitchell Levy," your weekly newsletter dedicated to helping you navigate the ever-changing landscape of the modern world. Every week, we'll delve into the strategies, practices, and insights that empower you to adapt, evolve, and thrive amidst disruption.?

As the new year begins, you might feel the pull to make resolutions—those bold declarations of change that often fizzle out by February. I get it. Resolutions sound inspiring, but they often lack the structure and clarity to truly stick. That’s why I want to challenge you to try something different this year: Credibility Commitments.

Credibility Commitments are intentional, actionable promises you make to yourself and others to live a life of purpose, clarity, and integrity. They’re not about sweeping, unrealistic goals but about aligning your actions with who you are and how you want to show up in the world. Unlike resolutions, they’re sustainable and tied to what matters—your credibility.

Start with Your CPoP

If you’re not clear on where to begin, start with your CPoP (Customer Point of Possibilities). Your CPoP is the foundation of everything you do. It’s your answer to these essential questions:

  • Who do you serve?
  • What problem or opportunity do they face?
  • How do you uniquely help them?

When you define your CPoP, you gain clarity about your purpose. It becomes your North Star, guiding the Credibility Commitments you’ll create and stick to throughout the year.

Why Credibility Commitments Work

Unlike resolutions, Credibility Commitments are deeply connected to your values and designed to build trust, foster relationships, and make an impact. Think about these three pillars of credibility: being trusted, known, and liked.

  1. To be trusted, commit to showing up authentically and following through on your promises.
  2. To be known, commit to sharing insights that resonate with those you serve.
  3. To be liked, focus on supporting others and spreading “credust”—the magic of amplifying others.

These aren’t one-time efforts. They’re ongoing actions that align with your purpose and build credibility over time.

Let This Year Be Different

This year, I invite you to shift your focus. Don’t chase fleeting resolutions that lose steam. Instead, commit to actions that truly reflect who you are and what you stand for. Credibility Commitments give you the clarity and consistency to live a more impactful life built on trust, purpose, and service.

So, are you ready to make 2025 the year of credibility? Let’s get started.
