Let's Play Outside! Who is ready for summer?

Nowadays, parents may feel overwhelmed by their children's smartphone or tablet abilities. The reality is that kids learn how to unlock an iPhone faster than dress themselves. Devices are part of our lives day by day, and infants, apart from having access to technology, they see how their parents are permanently connected. Definitely, technology has completely changed every aspect of our life, from the way we socialize, work, and also play with toys.

Now, just 8% of kids play out of the house each day and obesity has more than tripled since the 1970s. Tech is moving much faster than our everyday life, however, there are not only negative aspects surrounding technology. It can have many benefits for them when used correctly and under supervision. We as a society have become so attached to our devices, so we really need to learn how to live together with it, as technology evolution is unstoppable.

Eolo has been always involved in outdoor toys for the last 40 years, and we have seen how technology has become part of our lives day by day. 19 years ago looking at the future we decided to unite the 2 worlds so we launched our first kite with a CD Rom to learn how to use it and watch videos. Now there are many more ways to adapt technology to our lives allowing us to innovate more and more. Our latest integration has been our Classic Diabolo, including an APP that lets kids watch video tutorials, and train their skills outside. We strongly believe that this should be a positive approach to facing technological transformation as we will have not other choice than coexist. 

There are some known health benefits from being outdoors and being connected with nature. There is no better feeling and fun experience than playing with water toys in the hot summer. Having epic and exciting water battles with friends, kids can experiment with fantasies and powerful emotions. We all remember with affection our favorite toys, those which bring us unique moments from childhood. There are also numerous social skills benefits to play outside, under these circumstances, they are more willing to make new friends and join in games and activities.

We pride ourselves in our huge tradition of outdoor toys, and never forget their importance. Eolo will continue to develop outdoor toys and integrate technology that at least will make our infants a bit more active. Outdoor playtime is every kid's happy place, and now, with the summer approaching and the weather getting warmer, it's time to let our children outside!
