Can you tell us a bit about your role?

As Country Manager, I drive the overall business strategy by managing all aspects of operations and business development in Zambia.

Why do you enjoy working at Mukuru?

I am in love with the work culture and being able to work for a purpose-driven organization. Not many people can brag that they work at a company where the impact of their day-to-day activities at work is easily visible when they step outside into the communities. That's my daily drive to continue putting in effort and continue to impact people positively.

What surprised you about working at Mukuru?

Two things…The gigantic contact centre in Cape Town and the overall total number of staff that works at Mukuru.

How has your journey at Mukuru been?

I just clocked 2 official years at Mukuru on the 1st of April. I still feel like I have worked here for longer as my previous company was one of the key partners with Mukuru for over 4 years before I joined. It was a nice and easy blend into the company as I had a good feel of the values and expectations which has made the overall experience easy. I'm currently based in Zambia after transitioning from Malawi and with how the business continues to grow, I get thrilled by the thought of possibly finding myself in Astana, Kazakhstan 3 years from now impacting people's lives by providing a world-class service like in Malawi and Zambia.?

Can you tell us a fun fact about yourself?

I am a certified translator of Russian – English language. I learned Russian as part of my degree program. This meant that I had to do 1 year language course before I went into the actual 4-year program and during these 4 years I kept on learning Russian as a language and got Certified after the 5th year.
