Let's Learn Our Lesson to Love Thy Neighbor Like Yourself

We need to start understanding how positive human relations, are the foundation for all the good things we want.

The soldiers who have been fighting shoulder to shoulder on the front line and all the groups supporting them already understand this.

We have to be a united society to have a good future, and that means changing our attitude to people who are different than us.

That is actually the true essence of Israel - to be a living example for the rest of the world in how to make peace a priority. First and foremost, here inside the country, among us.

This aspiration to connect in a positive way will also help us realize that it's best to live peacefully with our neighbors, meaning anyone in our vicinity.

The benefits of peace and having good relations with the people and countries around us is clear to all of us. But it's really only slogans we use to feel better about ourselves, because in reality there are all kinds of power struggles in our world.

We should try to rise above it all and make peace a priority by increasing awareness of its importance. We could embed this principle into society if we really wanted to. Then we'd see the people who want to start wars failing, rather than succeed at upsetting our lives.

That is actually the true essence of Israel - to be a living example for the rest of the world in how to make peace a priority. First and foremost, here inside the country, among us.

So in the current war with the Hamas terrorists and all their accomplices, we need to dismantle this threat, by making sure we have no enemies around us. But the result of the war should be that from now on every Israeli will understand the conditions for us enjoying our victory: Our true victory will be victory over ourselves, because we've managed to overcome all our stigmas of each other.

That kind of result of the war would be a complete victory, because the physical removal of the enemy from us is only a temporary success, until we organize ourselves as a society.

What does organizing ourselves as a society mean? When we start to define the spirit of our society along the same lines of the incredible spirit of mutual support we've seen since October. And that brought with it the realization that it's our powerful connection that makes us invincible, and shatters the plans of our enemies.

This is why every single person in our society needs to feel the necessity of good relations, and clarity of purpose, so we can plan a better life for ourselves here. These are things that are important for us to discover, feel, accept and realize: how our purpose is to connect in a way where we truly love, care, and support each other in our daily lives.

Our neighbors need to understand that we can only exist here together in friendship and love. These are words that may sound too high now, but that is the ultimate goal. We need to reach a point where war is not an option at all.

The world needs to understand that the people of Israel are capable of bringing peace to all. The nature of the relationships established between us here can make positive waves in the world, and spread this amazing vibe everywhere.

Other countries need to understand that we cannot be broken, convinced, or forced into any other direction because this is our historical mission that we are committed to achieving. They have to help and support us in this.

So if we don't want all the pain, loss and sorrow to be for nothing, we need to remember our mission, our role, and unique place in human history.

There will never be a better time to relearn the Jewish values of loving others as we love ourselves - starting with everyone here inside Israel. We need to remember how wonderful it felt to leave all our differences behind and really connect as humans.
