It's been a breathtaking year for us – we expanded into new countries & regions, celebrated our 5th anniversary, undertook over 10 global CSR initiatives, won awards in diverse categories, and hosted educational events in different regions of our presence.

??Yangoversity – a week dedicated to learning and collaboration, uniting Yango Country Managers from over 20 countries for insightful conversations and valuable exchanges.

??Yango’s 5th birthday –?marking our journey from a startup to a global tech company, we celebrated our 5 year journey across our international presence.

CSR in action: Yango's local contributions

Our mission is to bridge the gap between leading world innovations and local communities, fostering connections and enhancing everyday living experiences. We thrive on collaborating with and contributing to local societies. Here are the main incentives we're proud of:

??3rd Internet Governance Forum in Mozambique – Yango sponsorship of the event, highlighting our positive impact and plans for enhanced services and community responsiveness.

??#AI challenge in Cameroon — we teamed up with Technovation and sponsored a program empowering girls to create apps & AI solutions that tackle real-world social issues.

??Yango sponsorship of urban mobility Hackathon with the University of Lusaka and Zindi – an urban mobility Hackathon in Zambia with 170+ participants joined, including enthusiastic female IT specialists. Across #Zambia, #Mozambique, #Angola, #DRC, about 350 young data analysts participated in our hackathon and took on the challenge of predicting traffic jams in their respective hometowns.

??Breast Cancer Awareness Month in #Morocco. Yango users donated one symbolic dirham per ride to Ibn Rochd Hospital Oncology Center, and all journeys to the center cost a single symbolic dirham throughout October.

We snagged many awards, grabbing the Transportation App of the Year at the National Customers' Choice Awards in #Ghana (Yango — the best Transportation App of the Year ), won the Best Customer Care award in #Zambia and got a platinum award as Digital Platform Of The Year in #Mozambique by public vote.

Empowering constant learning

We have successfully launched the Yango Education project, beginning with the course 'Introduction to Data Analysis' in 3 countries offering over 170 scholarships.

In #Zambia we provided course testing for 20 Yango employees; in #Senegal for 50 top partner drivers and their family members and in #C?tedIvoire for 100 top partner drivers and their family members.

We've also been diving into a series of educational events, the most notable are:

This year we participated in several expos. From connecting with industry leaders to showcasing our latest innovations, each expo brought new opportunities and unforgettable experiences. We'd love to share the main highlights:

??Yango took centre stage at FEXPOCRUZ event , where we became Santa Cruz's leading ride-hailing brand in under a year. Stay tuned for more exciting events and services in the future!

At GITEX GLOBAL Largest Tech & Startup Show in the World , Yango was a sponsor and debuted Yasmina, an Arabic-speaking AI voice assistant tailored for the Emirati market, seamlessly blending with local culture to deliver personalized and culturally tailored ride-hailing experiences in the Middle East and beyond. We also announced our plans to open a global office in Dubai Internet City. This move represents a significant milestone in overseeing our various services and upcoming initiatives, leveraging Dubai's business environment and infrastructure for global expansion.

??Yango's participation in the Africa CEO Forum proved to be highly valuable as it provided an opportunity to discuss potential collaborations with regional leaders. During the forum, we emphasized our focus on partnering with local transport companies and empowering them to expand their businesses, aiming to foster entrepreneurship in the ride-hailing industry.

??Yango showcased its commitment to the continent's development at GITEX AFRICA , emphasizing its dedication to revolutionize the urban mobility landscape and foster socioeconomic growth through job creation and entrepreneurship, while embracing ridesharing as a key solution to urban mobility challenges.
