Let's go on a date!
Lisa Couturier
Every high achieving small business owner or small non-profit is one LinkedIn strategy call away from becoming more effective and efficient
Relationship experts everywhere drive home the importance of having a weekly date with your significant other. It solidifies the bond you have together. It gives you a chance to take a breather from the mundane activities that come with being in a committed relationship and reconnect with the person most significant in your life. Remember the date is meant to be fun and add/keep spice in the relationship.??
We believe that your?relationship with your business?is as important as your relationship with your significant other. It can certainly be as challenging and rewarding as your relationship with your significant other in that you must be vigilant in staying connected and understanding all the areas of the business that need attention. As in a committed relationship, a business can easily get stuck in a rut of functioning and yet not functioning to its highest and best level.
?You wonder why it’s not growing or maybe it is growing but you aren’t sure why or how and you have so many balls in the air it’s hard to maintain them all. Maybe you’re in a rut and not feeling creative or as passionate about the business as when you first began, so how can you get a handle on your relationship with your business?
A DATE of course!?
We recommend setting up a weekly “date” with your business. We call it your “badass leader” date. Get this date on your calendar for each week. Have some fun with it. Get a cup of coffee, tea, wine. Maybe a whole charcuterie board! Set yourself up in a different room in your home, if you have an office where you typically work, get out of your office. We don’t recommend going to a public place because you’re going to be looking at your numbers, which means you will need a secure internet to log into your bank account. Set up your date as if you’re dating a person, so be creative in your location.?
?If you plan a date every week, that equates to 52 opportunities throughout the year to course-correct your business. 52 opportunities to view what is working, consider changes or tweaks you can make to be more efficient, and increase revenue and live in your genius zone consistently.?
