Let's get that cycling infrastructure improved !

This picture says it all!

No matter what we do and how much we try without the proper infrastructure cycling as a means of transportation will not make progress.

I think everyone who ever rode a bike understands all of the aspects of riding a bike in the city. The issues when there is bad infrastructure and the joy of riding when there is a great one.

My biggest concern is that our children who don't have a safe infrastructure will never get to know the joy of riding the bike every day. They will simply not develop the habit or be confident on a bicycle or e-bike in the city.

In this case future doesn't seem bright for our industry !

I urge all of the bike manufacturers to influence their surroundings and cities to build a better infrastructure. They have this power as a employer and beneficiary to the local community.

Second step should be the national bicycle manufacturers associations to apply soft pressure on the governments and legislative bodies to improve the countries bicycle infrastructures. No matter how much just a step more than before.

Third step should be the European associations who are already doing a good job on this matter to get the funding and legislation. What they need to do further is to follow up on those funds and how they are being used. The funds are often being misused and a subject of corruption in East Europe so the benefit to the cyclist is only 50% of those funds while thieves get the rest.

To conclude it is in our industry interest to work on getting better infrastructure for cyclists, from the city we operate in to the entire Europe and the world.

No matter if we are competitors we must work on this together in order to have a future.
