LET’S GET CHRIS’ BACK TO NORMAL
LET’S GET CHRIS’ BACK TO NORMAL
After 65 days of battling surgeries, living in the trauma intensive care unit, coping with rehabilitation, Chris has now been home for almost a month. We have finally been able to start a routine with Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy with testing, in few milestones!
Don’t get me wrong though, the marathon is not over yet just starting. We have months of outpatient rehabilitation, follow-up appointments and most importantly relearning how to incorporate work into daily life.
To help with these expenses, my kids and I have pulled together a raffle with prizes as rewards. All you have to do to enter the raffle is: Donate before July 4th to Chris’s GoFundMe.
If you’ve already donated, we would sincerely like to thank you!
If you’d like to participate again, please feel free to donate again or share with your friends and family!
To enter the raffle, simply donate directly to Chris’s GoFundMe from now until 4th of July (07/04, 11:59 EST)
The costs are as follows:
$5 = 1 entry
$25 = 5 entries
$55 = 15 entries
$100 = 33 entries
We are also going to host a few events.
1. Drink and draw
You can now bring the magic of drink-and-draw events to your donors’ homes. You can choose an image that represents your cause, such as a puppy for an animal shelter or a beautiful painting of a lake for your clean water project.
This is an excellent option for Zoom meetings, as participants can show off their creativity. You can also make it family-friendly by simplifying the artwork so parents and children can work on it together.
2. Scavenger hunts
Scavenger hunts offer ‘at-home fun’ for families that can be adapted to any house. Sell event tickets beforehand and enable text-to-donate for one-off giving during the search. Ask participants to track down objects that most people would already own (oven mitt, black socks, a teddy bear), so everyone can join in and have fun. Offering small prizes for each round will help keep everyone engaged.
3. Walk-a-thons, marathons, and dance-a-thons
Where people would be asked to donate in proportion to how many miles they’ll walk or how many hours they’d like to dance. Please encourage them to send in pictures or videos of them completing their activity. If your staff is participating, set up a live event to keep their motivation high.
4. Virtual Bingo Night
To keep this manageable, it will probably need to involve a smaller group than you would get if you hosted your evening at a school or village hall. However, you can still generate funds by sending out bingo cards to participants in advance of your event and then getting everyone together on a video meeting platform to draw out the numbers. Cash prizes can be transferred online, and other prizes can be posted out afterward.
5. Online Gaming
6. Donate Your Fuel Costs
If lockdown forced you to work from home when you normally commute to an office, calculate how much you saved and you can donate it. Share your calculations on social media to encourage others to do the same.
7. Donate Your Take Away Coffee Costs
If you frequently commute long distances for work and the above calculation resembles the third world debt total, you can go more manageable and donate your ‘take-away coffee costs’ instead. Then, again, do share your calculations on social media to encourage more people to get involved.
Thank you for all the effort and support, and we love you all!
