Helloo! I hope you are doing really well and in great health! I am pretty sure we all have P'Issues, right?
I was referring to Procationation issues! I am sure we have either dealt with or are dealing with procrastination which unknowingly consumes most of your productivity and ends up making us frustrated most of the time.
Let us take a look at the dictionary meaning of one of the most vicious cycles most of us are currently stuck in.
" PROCASTINATION : It is the act of delaying or postponing things"
We all have dreams & goals that we set for ourselves that we'd definitely want to achieve by end of the day/week/month but we end up pushing the deadline farther away, every single time and most of the time we ourselves do not understand what could be the potential reason of pushing a task's deadline away.
Procrastination is one of the major issues blocking you from waking up, taking the right decisions and living the dream life you've dreamt of. Studies have shown that people regret more things they haven't done than the things they have done. In addition, feelings of regret and guilt resulting from missed opportunities tend to stay with people much longer.
Sometimes all our opportunities seem to be at our fingertips but we can't seem to reach them.?When you procrastinate, you waste time that you could be investing in something productive. One will be able to accomplish more if one overcomes this enemy.
Why do we procrastinate?
To understand why we procrastinate, we should first understand what kind of tasks we usually try to avoid or push! It usually happens?when we have anxiety about the important task awaiting us. To get rid of this negative feeling, people procrastinate. They try to do something that passes their time and makes them feel better temporarily, but unfortunately, reality comes back to bite them in the end. To break it into simpler pieces, the following pointers mentioned below are the major reasons for procrastination :
How to Avoid Procrastination :
1. Fear of end result :
It is pretty common that when we do not know what is at the end of the tunnel, the journey seems very scary.?Sometimes we’re subconsciously afraid we’ll succeed and then we’d have to deal with all the success and change that follows success.?
The best way to get out of this is to face it!?Relate, connect with what exactly are you scared of, break it down into pieces and attack one after the other.

2. Helplessness :
When we have a task that needs to be done, we look at the task and sometimes we might not have enough resources or time to get that task done. We feel that the task is impossible to be accomplished with the kind of resources, and time that we have.
The perfect solution to this is ''Being Optimistic'' and focusing on breaking it down into smaller pieces and then focusing on solving smaller tasks instead of focusing on the outcome.
3. Laziness :
When we have a task that needs attention, we tend to figure out ''if we need to do it right now?'' If you are already indulged in some other activity which is much more interesting than the task that needs to be done (which involves less effort from your end), we tend to push it a little and that little becomes forever.
So when you notice yourself feeling lazy about a task, think of a way to?reward yourself for getting it done now.?Also, remind yourself of the consequences of not doing it. Instil fear.
4. Lack of motivation
If there are any tasks that are to be accomplished, the major reason for pushing them away is that you don't see any motivation or any really interesting result. We try to work out multiple times but working out consumes your time, energy, and effort and is painful for the first couple of days. We tend to look at very quick results and not focus on what's in for us in the long run.
The best possible solution to this is that we try setting up it as a habit and then reward ourselves for every small win until we win over this internal enemy.
5. Lack of focus :
Distractions are very common and you must try to ignore them and focus majorly on the goal that we set!?Find a quiet space where you can concentrate on the task at hand.?And only take breaks as a reward for accomplishing smaller sub-tasks.
6. Not knowing where to begin with :
This happens when you are looking at a task like a very big block that needs to be pushed instead of trying to break it into smaller pieces. Once we start breaking it into smaller blocks and try pushing them away, we find it much easier and we would eventually find a way in order to finish the entire task!
These are a few pointers which are tried and tested and I would really love to know if these actually worked out for you! My mantra for procrastination is very simple.
{Breaking big tasks into smaller tasks and trying to solve them one after the other will eventually help you fight this internal enemy}
