Let’s find the balance, together!

The #FindTheBalance campaign is a reminder for our members to hit pause and to bring more balance into their lives

At LinkedIn, our members always come first, and in the past year we have seen our thriving community of 76+ million members in India come together on LinkedIn to share their pandemic stories, of finding a new job, of working remotely, of switching careers, or discovering a new passion. There has been a significant upheaval during this period for professionals, business owners, and HR teams, and we have strived to help the professional workforce navigate this period of change.?

In the past 17 months, working remotely from home has blurred the boundaries between work and life. We have juggled to keep everything afloat — checked emails while watching a movie with family, taken work calls while doing house chores, or allowed a work project to take precedence over spending time with loved ones.?

It’s not a surprise then that professionals in India are now grappling with burnout at this time, as we are finding it difficult to keep up with the demands of our personal life. Our ‘Future of Work’ perception study states that 1 in 3 professionals in India are burnt out today due to increased workload and stress.

It’s a moment for us to stop and reassess.

Today, we launched the #FindTheBalance campaign to encourage our members to do just this — the 60-second film is a reminder to hit pause, take some time off, reconnect with your loved ones, and find the balance in your life, whatever that may look like for you. We want to encourage our members to find a new idea of balance, and redefine what the future of work will look like for them.?

The brand film highlights how the two protagonists are stuck in a never-ending loop of monotony with work and life, and how they are finding it hard to keep pace with the constantly evolving world of work. The film ends with heartwarming moments shared between the protagonists and their loved ones, and are a reminder of how we can redefine the balance in our lives.?

It shows how a small change can make a world of difference to bring the much-deserved and much-needed balance in our lives.?

Work-life balance has become critical for professionals in India today. It has also been a key driver for talent movement across industries and job roles today. At LinkedIn, we are referring to this as ‘The Great Reshuffle’, where organisations are rethinking their work models, and professionals are rethinking their motivations and ambitions at work.?

Our ‘Future of Work’ study states that professionals today value work-life balance (52%) a little more than job security (50%). Looking into the future, the Indian workforce is convinced that a hybrid work model can alleviate their distress and help them disconnect. The study shows that nearly 9 in 10 (86%) respondents think that hybrid work will also positively impact their work-life balance.?

As the world of work continues to evolve, we are committed to fostering a sense of community for our members, inspiring them to connect, share ideas and tips on building flexible schedules and well-rounded lifestyles, and helping each other find a sense of balance once again.??

Professionals are taking to LinkedIn to spark conversations, and share tips and learnings on finding work-life balance in the pandemic. Share your work-life balance story using #FindTheBalance ?

Thanks for sharing, Ashu! Earlier (2019 and prior) I used to think that it was ok to decline important personal events and commitments by citing work as the reason. But now, I take a few seconds to think about whether I can either balance both or prioritise the personal commitment and catch up on the professional. 2020 taught me that attending a virtual call with my family and friends for an hour a week is definitely as important as the work call I take at 9pm.

What a fantastic campaign, congratulations Ashu & LinkedIn India. Many many people will be able to relate to this piece of work. Yesterday I saw a post on Linkedin that reminded me how lucky I am that I get to hug my 5 yr old anytime I want during the day....pre covid we would both be apart from one another at work and school. There is a new balance we have formed & I am proud that you as a leader & LinkedIn allow us to embrace this.
