Let's fast forward....
It’s Friday 22nd December 2017; you’re sat at your desk in that green “merry Christmas you filthy animals” jumper. Staring at the clock, you eagerly countdown to your 3pm early finish to start your office party. You twiddle the phone cord around your finger as you listen to yet another dial tone to another business closed for the week, you hang up with a sigh. Fast forward a few hours to the “Christmas party.” You and your colleague gather around the same office desks you’ve worked at for the last 40 or so weeks, picking at the Domino's buffet and mini sausage rolls before a quick “thanks for your hard work in 2017” bids you goodbye for the year.
Sound like fun? We didn’t think so either.
Almost a third of UK based businesses (a whopping 32.3%) do not have a Christmas party for their employees. After a year of spending upwards of 40 hours a week at the office, the Christmas party is a fantastic way to allow your hard workers to loosen their ties, let their hair down and feel appreciated for their efforts.
With only 15 weekends left before December, now is a good time to start considering how to celebrate Christmas with your team.
Typically some businesses can find the festive period quite a strain on budgets. Because of this, weekday parties are becoming increasingly popular, and here are three little-known reasons why:
1. It’s cheaper
As with most venues, Fridays and Saturday nights are the most popular nights of the week for the general public. However, on Sunday through to Thursday, the price to hire a venue can drop considerably, most businesses do not realise that this can be as much as a 33% discount! It is worth considering looking to book in the week to get a gorgeous venue at a fraction of the cost.
2. You can get more exclusivity for your money.
For the same reason as the price, a lot of venues may only offer the hired function area for a limited time before they allow the public to join. For some businesses, this might be unfavourable. By choosing to hire a venue throughout the week at off-peak times, you open a spectrum of opportunity with more space for a longer period of time, and drink offers for a fraction of the cost of a Friday/Saturday booking.
3. Easier to juggle your social calendar
There is no denying it; December is the craziest month of the year for social events. With both you and your team finding yourself with more engagements than Hugh Hefner and only four weekends to fit everything in, something's got to give. By having a mid-week party, your team can save their weekends for their family and friends and still get spoilt by the company. Leaving your team feeling appreciated and earning brownie points with your better half.
Throughout the year we have fantastic private areas available for corporate events at our stunning nationwide venues. For more details on Christmas bookings give me an email on [email protected] or call 01244 345 362.
