I Believe...
Do you believe there's a reason for the season? Do you believe the Spirit moves people in this season? I always love Christmas, the bright lights, the dark nights, and the music. I believe in the Spirit of the season.
CHILDHOOD
When I was a little girl we went to midnight Mass and when we came home there were huge bags in front of our garage door. We lived in a big red house and there was a wooden doll house in front of the door for us. It was magical, and it was then that I really believed in Santa, St. Nicolas, and the Spirit of Christmas.
I knew there had to be a Santa when I looked at the big doll house. Elves? No. It was my mom and her neighbors who crafted that doll house. Her neighbors built it and she planned the surprise. Back then, many did not believe but I knew there was a Santa somewhere. Our little family made fudge with pudding and powdered sugar and cut it into little squares. We drove around to friends, sang carols, and offered our homemade treats. We were offered to join other family celebrations. I'm not sure if they were happy to have 8 unexpected guests but it was special. It taught me to keep our door open for others to walk through.
GROWN UP
Through the years many Christmas miracles came to me. The first year I was a single mom, a woman I worked with showed up with 6 bags of groceries with a $20 bill in each back. "God gave me your name and to be a blessing to you", she said. The next year a woman knocked on the door from my church and said, "A family sees you come to church with your little boy and wanted to do something special for you. We decided instead of exchanging gifts we will be anonymous givers." A large sum of cash was placed in my hands. I was blessed again.
Knowing hard times and living with pain and loss has opened my mind to miracles. When I became a working woman, our company would sponsor families, buy gifts, and deliver them anonymously on the week of Christmas.
LOVE
The first year Greg and I were dating he surprised me and flew my sister and Catherine here to celebrate Christmas. Blessed again!
NOW
Surprises happen disguised by friends who support my vocation of speaking and writing. They support me shopping for clothing, finding speaking venues, and they cheer me on as I approach the new Book Launch in March. They care about the message in my book "Be The Exception: 7 Steps to Transformation". Having my husband, my 3 kids, and friends gathered brings joy to my heart and a smile to my face. Being able to be an anonymous giver and surprising the unsuspecting with a gift during this magical season brings me the greatest joy!
AND FOR YOU...
I care and hope the miracles come to you. I know many who are hurting with broken bodies, relationships, finances, and hearts. I believe Christ came to heal and love us. I pray for you and for me to be healed of broken places. I want you to know that I'm praying for many blessings for you this season and all year through!
SMILE
At the mailbox today, Santa wrote and said "thank you" for sharing kindness and compassion. I believe in the Christmas Miracle. I beg you to never stop believing in the Miracle of Christmas and of Santa!
PAST-PRESENT-FUTURE
Can you remember past Christmas Miracles in your memory that you were a part of and what Christmas Miracles you received? Santa, Christ, St. Nick, and sugar plums are all dancing in your head with love for you.
Merry Christmas!
