'Let's Circle Back in the New Year!' 5 Things To Do Before Your Holiday Break

Here’s to the official week of ‘let’s circle back to this in the new year.’

Whether you're preparing to take PTO or vacation, or are fortunate enough to have time off this holiday season, don't forget to complete these 5 tasks to make an easy return to the office!

?? Review Your Project Deadlines

December is a busy time of year, at home and in the workplace, so keep track of the deadlines and tasks that need to be completed before the end of the year, and don't let the small things like expense reports and timesheets slip through the cracks!

?? Focus on What is Achievable

If you're finding yourself overwhelmed and feel like you're running out of time before the end of the year, take an inventory of your tasks and select what's most important, and what can wait until the new year. This may require some delegation to other coworkers to wrap up projects and client requests.

?? Write an Out-of-Office Email Response

Let your coworkers and clients know when you’ll return to the office, and wish them a Happy Holiday season! Don't forget to include an alternate contact for urgent requests, to keep your time off free of work-related stress.

?? Make a Game Plan for 2024

December is not just about getting things wrapped up before the end of the year. For many, it’s a good time to get things to get a head start on the year ahead, whether that be building strategies, making plans or implementing new processes. When you’re creating your to-do list, make sure you consider the tasks that will give you an easier time settling back into work in the new year.

?? Enjoy Family Time

As things start to slow down at work, take some time to make some fun plans with friends and family! There are many holiday-themed events in Windsor-Essex, take advantage of the beautiful Christmas Lights at Jackson Park, endless Holiday Markets, and family gatherings!
