Let's challenge strategy and communication

From a strategic point of view, many measures that are now being taken by the state appear necessary but operational. The question that arises in this context is whether the issue of a pandemic is also being viewed in a sufficiently strategic way. If so, whether the states will be given the time to operationalize the strategies. Following some comments, one could get the impression that the measures taken recently would already last unbelievably long and that it would be almost impossible for the population to bear it. These statements could have fatal consequences, as they could lead to the fact that measures that have been taken correctly could be reversed too soon, as politicians and those in positions of responsibility cannot stand the arising pressure without waiting for a development that takes time. It has to be communicated again and again in an understandable way that these measures will only slow down the spread of COVID-19, but will not eradicate the epidemics.

Tedros Adhanom, Director-General of the World Health Organization, has rightly called on all countries to "use this time to attack the coronavirus". This is what the current actions of the WHO and individual states are creating, namely a second chance for states, health authorities, drug and vaccine manufacturers to strategically fight the virus. This is valuable time for research and development, detection and treatment of infected persons. The responsibility of the individual towards his community, vulnerable groups and society in general is currently being tested and it remains to be seen to what extent societies are capable of meeting it. Many of those who are affected would probably find it much easier to accept these measures if they were explained strategically and the scenarios that could develop from them were described in a comprehensible way.

One thing that must not happen under any circumstances is that those with social responsibility fall into an on-off-on-off mode for whatever reason, because this would not only be harmful to the fight against the pandemic but would also lead to an incredible loss of confidence.
