April is Volunteer Appreciation Month and it’s a big deal. How big? Check out these statistics:

• Almost one fourth of all nonprofit hours worked are completed by volunteers
• The estimated national value of a volunteer’s work is $29.95, although that amount may be higher or lower depending on your state
• An estimated 23.2% of Americans volunteered an estimated 4.1 billion hours in 2020-2021

It’s mind-boggling to consider the impact volunteers have the nonprofit sector and society overall.
