What is the Guaranteed Purchase Programme (GPP)?

Simply put, GPP is NHT’s commitment to buying housing units from public or private real estate developers. Under the GPP, not only does the NHT purchase all or portions of units in housing developments but the NHT shoulders the marketing risk for the project. This frees up the developer to focus on the planning, designing, financing, and completion of the housing solutions. So it’s a win-win situation.

Actually, it’s a win-win-win situation because this collaborative effort between NHT and developers allows the Trust to provide affordable housing solutions for our valued contributors in the lowest income groups. Which means that we'll provide more houses, and our contributors will still be able to access mortgages with all the typical benefits, such as low-interest rates or an NHT Home Grant.
