Let's arise against femicide in Kenya

Let’s Arise

In the shadow of dawn, a silent cry, Another life taken, another goodbye. The streets of our homeland soaked in despair, Femicide rises—does no one care?

Her dreams were blooming, her voice was strong, Yet hatred cut short where she belonged. Her laughter now echoes in memory's hall, A victim of violence, a nation’s fall.

Why do we stand in silence so grim, When sisters are lost to a world so dim? When homes become cages, love turns to fear, The toll of injustice grows year by year.

Let’s arise, for the mothers, the daughters, the wives, Let’s arise, for the sisters whose light still survives. Let’s break the chains, the cycle, the pain, No more lives should be lost in vain.

How many voices must scream to be heard? How many dreams must be left undeterred? This land of our fathers, let it also be, A sanctuary for women, safe and free.

The courts must awaken, justice must speak, For the fallen, for the silenced, for the weak. No more excuses, no more delay, Let laws be upheld, let truth find its way.

From the village paths to the city lights, Let men and women rise for these rights. Teach our sons to respect, to defend, To value a life till the very end.

Let’s arise with courage, let’s arise with might, And shine through the darkness, a guiding light. The tears of the lost water our plea, A world without fear is what must be.

For #sharon, #atieno, Wanjiku, Akinyi, Njeri, and more, Their names are the echoes we can’t ignore. Kenya, the land of pride and grace, Let’s honor their lives, let love replace.

No more graves dug by the hand of hate, No more silence sealing another’s fate. Together we march, our voices a tide, To stem this injustice, to turn the tide.

Kenya, let’s stand, let’s build, let’s unite, For justice, for peace, for women’s right. Let courage ignite in every eye, Let’s arise for a future where no more must die.
