Let's all remember Surfside and what it means to us
As we celebrate our nations independence, we should think about the residents of Surfside Florida and what they should mean to all of us. Lots of people died there. Hispanic Jewish, Caucasion, African Americans. Those people and there existence represent the definition of what America is, a melting pot. None of the first responders, who are also of every race and creed is searching for a particular subset of our society. They are risking their lives to help all of us.
It is heartbreaking what happened there. It is reassuring to see what is happening now. everyone is hurting, everyone is pulling together and our society is witnessing it and expressing their hopes and prayers for the victims and their loved ones.
In a time of strife in our nation, it is good to know that people of all stripes can live together and hope and pray for each other. So let's all take some time this weekend to think about all the folks that have been affected by this tragedy and all the folks that are working to save and recover the victims that they may find some peace in all of this misery. Let' remember that this is America!
