Let's all be lunatics.

Let's all be lunatics.

Yesterday, many of us Earthlings hit the pause button on life to look up and witness a once (or maybe twice) in a lifetime magical celestial event.

Over the course of about an hour, the Moon positioned herself between the Earth and Sun in a beautiful, bold, epic, “Look At Me!” moment.

But this wasn't some big orchestrated special event designed to appease algorithms or gain followers.

It was just... Nature Math??.

The Earth was just spinning around, doing its thing, orbiting the Sun.

The Sun was minding its own business, orbiting around the middle of the Milky Way.

And The Moon was doing what she does everyday... following her regular path, orbiting the Earth.

While I was waiting for the moment of totality, I did some journaling...

... the world is taking a collective pause to witness this moment... schools closed early, traffic slowed down... for what, really?

All that was happening was that the Earth, Moon, and Sun were following their natural path.

They were just doing what they were designed to do.

The Moon wasn't worried about casting shadows on the Earth or denying the Sun a moment of brightness.

What if we all followed our own path with that kind of confidence?

Imagine if every one of us down here on Earth followed our own unique paths.

As if we are all meant to orbit one another as part of some elaborate, miraculous design?

Because we are.

Your path is unique and unrepeatable.

The word "loony" is derived from the word "lunatic," which is derived from the Latin word "lunaticus," meaning "of the moon."

This comes from the belief that the Moon can make people go a little mad.

But I think we should all be more like the Moon, don't you?

That in itself might seem a little bit mad, but I think it's worth it.

Here's to embracing your inner lunatic. ??

Love the analogy. Were you able to see the moon just minding its own business?

Yes. I’m a lunatic on purpose. Yes, that’s it!
