LET YOUR WORK DO THE TALKING

Today on my way to work, I had some time for retrospection. Nearly a year ago, I was in the job market, busy applying for jobs. We all know that job searching can be a full-time job and overtime to boot.
Luckily for me, I had started a business while in employment and when I was waiting for my next big thing, I managed to scale up my business as well as launch one more enterprise.
During this period, as I was busy working on my businesses, a relative approached me to help in starting out a business, as he was impressed by my entrepreneurial mindset and ethic.
Fast forward to November, a former client, called me to request if I could join their team. We didn't agree on some aspects then, but they promised to reach out the next year if things looked up, on their front.
January this year, true to their word, they reached out and now with better terms willing to onboard me. These series of events got me thinking, in my 4 plus years of employment and other endeavors, I have not gotten a job from sending out CV's only.
Yes, I have sent out CVs in their hundreds and gone to numerous interviews but that hasn’t landed me a lucrative job to date, however, my work ethic has opened doors for me. Most of the opportunities I have been blessed with are as a result of people interacting with me while at work, some observing from a distance and some recommending me to their networks.
I, therefore, thought it useful to share this with my connection. Clearly, there are many ways to kill a rat. You might be in the same predicament and at the brick of giving up. How about starting with what you have at hand and rubber stamp it with excellence. It might take longer than you expect, but eventually, someone will take notice and maybe just maybe, that will be your JACKPOT!!
