Why is it that we would rather speak about everything and anything else but about what really matters - God!

Let Your Voice be Heard - Let God's Word be Shared!

How is it that we find time to talk about everything and anything but God. We can spend hours talking about the latest fashion, the best series, what is happening on the soccer scene, and who is involved in the hottest gossip, but we barely can mention a word about God who has done so much for us. The silence in this regard is deafening. Why do we take God for granted? The One who made a way of escape of us by giving His own life just so that we may not have to face eternal damnation. The One who promises to always be with us no matter what. The One who loves and cares for us unconditionally and the One who bears with our weaknesses and failures and still holds our hands even though we don’t deserve Him. Why do we not show our appreciation, gratitude and respond to His great love for us all the time?

Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”

1st Peter 3:15 “Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.”

In Matthew 5:16 we read, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” According to this text, we are to be those who will bring clarity, truth and direction to this lost world. Our relationship with Jesus cannot be a secret union – it has to be revealed to the darkened world around us so that others will see what we do and recognize the Christ that dwells within us, thus giving glory to God. How often do we take time to encourage someone who is down and out, feeling confused and despondent, not knowing which way to go. Christ has selected us and set us apart for this very reason, yet we choose to be silent even when we hear the cries of men and women desperately seeking help and attention.

Paul exhorts young Timothy in 2nd Timothy 1:8 “So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God.” Paul is encouraging every believer to be outspoken regarding testifying about Jesus and what He has done for us and how He has brought us through the circumstances and trials that stood before us. How God in His mercy and grace reached out to us and delivered us from outer darkness. How He restored us to His salvation and placed within our hearts His joy and peace. The punishment for being ashamed of our Lord Jesus Christ is seen in Luke 9:26: “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory, and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.”

?Who is a good witness of the Lord? One who has entered into a relationship with Jesus and converses with Him on a daily basis. Paul in encouraging the Ephesian church says this: “Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into Him who is the head, into Christ.” [Ephesians 4:15]. When we are more comfortable to speak about everything and anything else but God it shows that we have not as yet matured in the faith. We have not grown in God’s grace. Because of our childish approach we tend to be swayed by what is taking place around us instead of standing firm on God’s truth and allowing His truth to be revealed through us. When we truly know the Lord and experience His presence in our lives, no one and nothing will cause us to lose our passion, zeal, excitement and joy when we speak about the Lord to those around us.
