Achieving success in your career is something that we all aspire to achieve. Many people feel that making noise along the way is a necessary part of the process to achieve it. Yet often times, the most successful people are those that avoid making noise and let their success speak for itself.
Pursuing your career can and should be a satisfying endeavor. Although you will no doubt encounter roadblocks and bumps along the way, it is a challenging yet rewarding path to finally get where you want to go. As you reach each level of your career growth, you should enjoy and be proud of accomplishing your goal. However, just as important is the path that you took to achieve it.
You Can Choose To Make Noise
Not all paths are implemented equal and the approach that you take can have a long-lasting impact on how the remainder of your career plays out. Some choose a path of making noise along the way. Complaining about managers, talking about co-workers, job hopping frequently, blaming others for poor results or simply telling others everything about what you are doing or what you intend to do.
Yes, it is possible that making such noise might give you a temporary boost forward along your path. But this is a short-term gain void of consideration to how such actions might impact your ability to sustain your success. Long-term, you risk building your advancement and success on top of a foundation that is weak and likely to crumble.
Or You Can Choose To Generate Noise
Alternatively, you can make a conscious decision to shut up and work hard. This approach involves making a conscious-decision to avoid making noise and to remain focused on your work. Often times, the separation between you and someone else ahead of you is due to the difference in the decision that you make. It is important to remember that your success is not determined on how much and how often you talk or who you knock down to lift yourself up.
Your success depends on your work ethic, developing real & authentic relationships and to persevere when things don't immediately go your way.
Take an objective look at your current situation and start working today. Don't tell others about what you are going to do. Just do it. Be patient. Let your success develop over time. Your path to success will be more satisfying when you work diligently in silence because people will start to see and make noise about your success. Let them make the noise for you - it's a much more powerful kind of noise.
