Let the Word-of-the-Day Practice bring abundance and set you free!
We are about to enter August and the ‘dog days of summer’ and I consider we have another month of heat to endure. I cheer myself up with this song and I hope it cheers you too:
Breakthrough from a Wednesday Webinar
We had a wonderful webinar on Wednesday, using Word-of-the-Day techniques to enhance and open new opportunities for creative abundance.?In the preceding four webinars,?we focused on the false core beliefs about money that could keep us from having what we want. For example, Liz discovered that she believed in the myth of "the starving artist." That is the belief you can’t have both creative integrity and financial security. I asked her to comment on how acknowledging this false belief had helped her, and here is what she wrote:
"I've used the WOTD technique to clear my head on a lot of issues around my writing, and now, after the last webinar, I've finally vanquished the old trope of "the starving artist." I don't know how it's been able to take such a strong negative hold on my?creativity, but its time is done. When clustering around abundance, I can stay centered around what really brings me joy - writing and sharing my work with others. When the drama of the career and financial aspects is taken out, my heart soars!”
About the Word-of-the-Day Abundance Webinar Series
This past week’s webinar and the following three will focus on defining and expanding what is called “abundance.” What are we really rich in? Not just money. For example, did you know you take 15 to 20,000 breaths daily? Have you examined what your breath does for you? You could see how valuable the acknowledgment that you have so much breath could be because now you could add some techniques to make yourself healthier and more creative.?
?When we breathe, we rely on past experiences to inform how we breathe in the present. This is called a pattern. We repeat something that has worked in the past. The problem is with the definition of what “worked.” When you are trying to survive, happiness isn’t essential. Once you begin to thrive, happiness and purpose become the new essentials, not just food, water, and shelter.??
In order to transform, we must upset the patterns of the past, and our brains panic because change can be dangerous. The brain doesn’t understand that change can be good. This is one of the reasons it’s hard to add a new habit, however helpful.
When we strive for change, we trigger old memories, and they can upset and distract us. When we use the Word-of-the-Day Practice, we are able to bypass the fearful brain and call on a past experience for pattern solving without the memories attached when we learned it because the Practice helps us stay so present. The past doesn't enter your mind when you're rooted in the present.
What Can You Appreciate Now? Abundance Seminar-July 24
In this past week’s webinar, I shared that self-acknowledgment is a different way of thinking. It allows us to stay in the present and solve problems without the conversation that apportions blame and argues about the morality or reality of things.
For example, Sandeep said that the Word-of-the-Day Practice had helped him understand a new way to work with himself; instead of having an argument about procrastination, Sandeep simply acknowledged that he wasn’t writing. Once he allowed himself to see that without judgment or argument, it was much easier for him to get to work. You can view the seminar here:
