Let us talk about the gaps in SharePoint records management and why Colligo has an answer.
We’re now 16 months on from March 2020 and it appears that the work from home requirement is here to stay for many organisations albeit many of us look forward to a return to the office.
Though I almost hate using it as a point of reference, the pandemic forced organisations into the quick adoption of tools for efficient remote working and team collaboration, of which Teams and SharePoint have played a major part for any organisation utilising Microsoft 365.
Organisations have now learned much more about SharePoint’s and Teams capabilities, which is beginning to show some of the gaps in these solutions.
There is no silver bullet with any solution, but fortunately, the advent of add-is and integration has allowed us to bridge the gaps in organisational needs and functional blackspots.
Some of these black spots were formally highlighted in Gartner’s Solution Scorecard for Microsoft SharePoint (June 2020), noting that the biggest gaps in SharePoint are its Metadata Classification, Records Management, and Content Collaboration.

So, what is the answer?
In early 2020 Tricostar partnered with Toronto-based Colligo to help accelerate the adoption of their Microsoft add-in for better SharePoint records management. Initially, we offered it only alongside our legal case management system. But since have come to realise that their add-in should not be limited to one vertical.
Since March 2020, 5 major public sector legal departments have adopted Colligo. Colligo now forms a part of the standard Tricostar Case Management application and is fast being adopted by our clients’ wider organisations for better management of emails and documents in SharePoint and Teams.
Colligo enables organisations to save & classify emails straight to Microsoft SharePoint & Teams from Outlook, fully tagged with metadata, improving user productivity, records management, collaboration, sharing, and governance - All for the price of a cup of coffee per user per month.
