We all dream of inspiring others or being soldiers in the war of changing the world- Durva

I am a true blue Generalist who believes in doing anything and everything that sparks interest in me proactively!

They sometimes do call me a versatile All-Rounder! #HumblyProud??

I believe in having a blend of cutting edge technology with a touch of nostalgia and informed experience to strike the perfect balance as a responsible and enriched human??

I have always unknowingly been a 'Generalist', even before I knew that term!??

When I was a young girl in school, I always admired speakers and journalists. I was a child who was interested in doing everything including participating in elocutions and debates, giving dance performances, be a knowledgeable person who reads and travels a lot. Like any other child going through gradual changes, my aspirations changed from wanting to become a writer, a teacher, an actor, a theatre artist, a radio jockey, a cricketer to even becoming a President one day!

Today I am working as a Spatial Data Specialist II, Technical Writer, and Testing Analyst at Here Technologies, the Number 1 location platform company in the world, collaborating with cross-functional teams across the globe.

• I am also a Core member of the Steering Committee of Facilitators which enables enhanced facilitation for our in-house facilitators.
• I will receive my International Certification in Business Enablement in Soft Skills Training soon.
• I am passionate about and experienced in Location Intelligence, Learning and Development, Writing, Human Resources, Communications, Marketing, Employee Advocacy, Newsletters, Inclusion, Diversity, Belonging, Talent Mobility, Upskilling, User Experience, and Research, Company Culture, Mindfulness, Performing Arts, etc.
• I enjoy working in Innovation technology, Autonomous vehicles, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Video and Audio Editing, Radio Jockey shows, Speaker sessions, Facilitation, Instructional Designing, SDK, Content Curation, etc.
• I love being a Lean In Circle Leader for Enhancing Lives and Enhancing Lives Toastmasters where we share ways to increase emotional intelligence and empathy easily in our lives to enrich ourselves and our experiences and also work on public speaking skills.

My hobbies involve playing and watching Cricket, writing short stories and poems, walking by the beach at sunset, learning about history, swimming, running, etc.

In short, I have always been a Generalist and somehow been able to incorporate that into my life and work!

This newsletter is a series of my experiences in all the roles that I have played and will keep playing??I hope to walk you through and normalize being a Generalist, and share all the perks and ways to overcome the hurdles associated with it. It is not about being a 'Jack of all trades' but about being an inquisitive person who believes in the following-

So live every day the way you want to, even if it means doing multiple things! But do remember, you can do this only if you do not let it overwhelm you. It is very important to understand the importance of being mentally at peace and not letting multitasking deprive you of the joy of being a generalist.
