Let us embrace restlessness

Now, let me tell you about my friend Emeka. We met about eight years ago when he was selling peanuts—after multiple, and I mean multiple, failed attempts to get into college. If you know anything about Nigeria’s admission process, you’ll understand how unnecessarily tough it can be especially back then.
But Emeka had something special: the gift of restlessness. He was full of dreams and wasn’t afraid to show up. He had an incredible way of introducing himself back then. Every time he introduced himself, he’d say, “I’m a techie without any technical skill who sells peanuts to those in tech as my contribution to the ecosystem.” It wasn’t just a clever line—it was a vision in motion.
We attended countless personal development events together, and Emeka never wavered in his introduction. “I’m a future techie,” he’d say, “and for now, I serve the ecosystem by making peanuts that replenish the brain nutrients of those building the future.” He wasn’t waiting for clarity to hit him—he was creating it.
Step by step, he invested in himself. He signed up for data science training, then advanced to machine learning. He kept showing up, learning, and positioning himself. Today, Emeka lives in the UK and works as a data engineer after building his career through several roles in Nigeria. No college degree—until recently. No conventional path. Just relentless pursuit, grit, and an unwavering belief in his future.
Now think about it—how does someone go from selling peanuts, with no formal degree in a country that places such a high value on certificates, to working with global firms in tech? Restlessness! The kind that whispers, “There’s more for you.”
That dissatisfaction you feel, that little voice inside you saying "This can't be all there is"—don’t ignore it. It’s an invitation to rise higher. Don’t silence it. Use it as fuel. Pursue growth over the temporary comfort that leads to complacency.
When you feel stuck, when you’re asking, “What’s next?”—don’t sit around waiting for clarity to knock. Fight for it. Immerse yourself in learning, push through the uncertainty, and keep moving. Nobody has it all figured out—but the ones who keep fighting eventually have results to prove that their dreams were always valid.
So, tell me—what’s that one thing you’ve been restless about? Maybe it’s time to chase it.
