Let Them Shine

Today's devotional is from Life is a Goldmine: Can You Dig It?

"Mordecai had a cousin named Hadassah, whom he had brought up because she had neither father nor mother. This young woman, who was also known as Esther, had a lovely figure and was beautiful. Mordecai had taken her as his own daughter when her father and mother died" - Esther 2:7.

Esther was an orphan who grew up to be a pretty woman with a lovely figure and beautiful face. Those attributes were from the Lord, and God used them for His purpose and glory. You also have attributes and characteristics for which you had nothing to do (so you should not be proud), but which God wants to use if you will allow them to be seen and heard.

You could also call those things your strengths, perhaps even your gifts. What are those attributes, do you know? Have you built your life and ministry around those strengths? What more can you do to allow them to shine for God's glory?

Lord, I accept the fact that You have put things in me for which you expect a return on Your investment. It's inconsistent that You would give me light, so to speak, and then expect me to hide that light. I commit to exhibit my strengths, whatever they are, for You to direct and use as You see fit.
