Let Them Fix It

I have determined there are five things I will embrace in 2023. Yes, I’m starting early if I want to deal with people and all of their proclivities, and them with mine. Now, none of these “things” are inward facing. They are all external. Essentially, I will do all of these for others. I have reached a point in life where there is not a lot I need or want. So, I have decided to give.
1.????Give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Just because an action or comment sounds mean or sounds negative, does not mean it is meant to be negative. Process the action or comment beyond your initial reaction. Contrary to popular belief, first impressions ARE NOT CORRECT. Think of all the people you know today that you disliked when you first met them, and now you are best friends, simply because you were privy to a second impression.
2.????Give love unconditionally. I’ve seen more hatred in the last three years than I’ve read about since the civil war. Use whatever you need to use to love everyone. It sounds cliched, and it is. Also, it is true. I live under the realization about myself and others that we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God.

3.????Give support to your family, friends, and to a point, people you don’t know. Every now and then, everyone needs encouragement. I have gone through dark moments and dark days. They pass. A great piece of advice I heard last week - learn to help others stand in their storm.
4.????Give understanding. The one time you should make an assumption is when you are in a conversation and there is a misunderstanding. Assume you are unclear, and need to give clarity, so the other person can get an understanding.
5.????Give grace. Everyone has a right to be wrong. Translation: If someone breaks something, let them fix it.?
