We all know that the cost of a college education has far outpaced inflation over the past years. Consequently, it is becoming rather common for students to graduate with a 4-year degree and a large student debt, often more than $30,000.
So, when I learned that coach Nick Saban is reportedly receiving a salary of $11 million, I was shocked. After a little research, I learned that the 25 top-paid college sports coaches (https://www.thebestschools.org/features/highest-paid-college-coaches/) receive on average about $5 million annually in salary. True, the NCAA is a money making venture with $986 million in 2014. Still, at $5 million each, these 25 coaches are taking almost 13% of that total revenue.
Where does that leave the students? Sadly, deeper in debt.
