Let Them be Them
Could you imagine how awful it would be if all trees looked alike? What a boring and dystopian world we would live in. Thankfully, Mother Nature had better things in mind.
This ancient tree I came upon in Nevada reminded me how uniqueness and imperfection, are in fact the most perfect things in the world.
Whether raising a child or managing a team, when we dial into the specific identity and shape of each person, we can release performance, engagement, effective development and even joy.
This month's read for me is a little Brené Brown. The path to optimizing human performance is not linear and straight. The artistic shapes of each unique skill set of each unique person, must be woven in. When we are able to appreciate, honor and then tap the special traits of the person, we win their hearts and minds. And great performance things happen!
