Let that Sh&t Go

The busy life of a professional. The executive on the go. The demands. The profits. The goals unachieved. How often do we miss the mark and then wallow in the mark not being met?
Success of life and career is absolutely met in the making. meeting and exceeding of goals but when we don't meet them what happens?
Stress on the body and mind, forgetting to be in service of yourself, a serious lack of self worth, and a downward spiral of sorrowful personality takes over. I see it happen all the time. The happiness destination addiction is alive and well in corporate and small businesses, and especially in the one room offices of entrepreneurs.
My week has been one that has been overflowing with lots of havoc and moments that "could be stressful" and they were- honestly. But since I'm a professional exhaler (get my book The Kind Communicator to be one too!) my week although awry in a few times, it was also filled with the beauty of moments, contracts, tears of joy and more- thanks to my breath. Thanks to my patience.
The artful balance of allowing yourself to not miss your mark and to appreciate the personal growth journey of the pain of bad weeks or bad days is f$%cking brilliant and if you can't take the time NOW to experience the wonder and joy in letting things go- and as my good friend Talia says, "Be happy on purpose"- you are seriously missing out on life.
My recent book The Kind Communicator, and the follow up to it (coming soon) called Design the Mind To be Kind focuses on the art of delivering who we are to this world in both demanding and wonderful times. We are not perfect, nor do we want to be, so stop trying to be. Stop trying to write the perfect email, or on the opposite spectrum, stop trying to make someone feel bad or be demeaning in your next email either.
The leadership lifestyle is one that is not built on just "getting it" or winging it- it's built from countless hours of awareness, experience, wisdom and readiness for anything. You can be book smart, a Yale graduate, driving nice cars with a bank account filled to the rim, but if you don't carry self-awareness and if you allow stress or bad habits to live inside your soul, you're seriously missing out on the fun of life and having all those nice things, and money!
You are you! As Dr. Suess said, "There's no one you-er than you!"
Let that sink in. A children's book author knows so much about the adult psyche that he inspires youth to capture the art of play. I take my recent work from the brand I built, BeyondEgo, from the book from Seuss called On Beyond Zebra.
I do heart fully believe that adults need more play. I've made play and conversational leadership the focus of my coaching and consulting workshops- through vulnerability, ego, awareness, compassion, empathy, relationship building and communication tactics. I've studied the best, I formulated my process based in the teachings of Wayne Dyer, and I believe that no matter what title or status you have, if you don't take the time for personal development through the muck- and if you cannot let things go and grow because of it, you're missing out on the miracles that are tapping you on the shoulder every damn day.
That's just a little Friday inspiration from me. xo
