Let it Rain, Let it Rain - Okay, Maybe not that much

We packed up Friday afternoon and came back to this Monday morning. 100mm of rain was predicted for the weekend and in the past that had presented no problems. Instead 300mm of rain fell over the weekend and this was the end result. The Monday morning pit inspection revealed this and more rain was predicted.
The rest of the gear was walked to the northern end on Friday afternoon as it was sitting on the quarry floor and not on raised pads.
The pads the Jaw and Scalping Screen units were sitting on were over 1.5m high and had never gone under with 100-150mm of rain before.
An air cleaner extension was required for the scalper so that it wouldn't suck in water when it was walked of its pad and trammed to higher ground. Someone (me) had to wade out in chest deep water to get to the pads, fit the extended air intake and start the units so that they could be trammed to higher ground using the radio remotes. Good thing it was Queensland and not too cold.
Another lesson learnt on the necessity of planning and erring on the side of caution when rain events are predicted.
