On Sunday, I did a poll asking "What Brings You Happiness"? in honor of this week being #HuntForHappinessWeek.
So let me tell you a story about a girl that always sets BIG goals and even some very unrealistic goals too and how she finally found her joy and happiness!
Back in 2017, after some well poor?decisions, I was living POOOOOOR, broker than broke.?
?Around?this time, I also decided to take action and begin my coaching career while I was working full-time.?
?It was HARD! Working 40 hours and taking my lunch breaks and working late into the evening and on weekends with clients as soon as I got home.?
I did it because I started believing in myself again and I was ready to fix my family's financial woes!
No matter how long I had to do this I WAS going to change my life. I could finally really feel that freedom once I got there. I would prove to everyone that I could do it and it was possible.?
?So that’s what I worked towards.?
And yes, this little business started to build itself, and "I was doing it!". I could be happy and content now.??
But I wasn’t. It didn’t FEEL like I thought it would feel when I got my life together.?
Then the opportunity came to transition into my business full-time and I was sure that was the answer I had been looking for. I could really feel happy and successful when I hit that rank!?
I did it! And again, didn’t feel the way I thought I was supposed to feel. People still doubted me.??People still said I wasn't actually working. I still had bills to pay. They were easier to pay but It wasn’t at all what I thought it would be.?
?This didn’t just happen with business either.
?I also thought I would be happy when I moved to a new smaller place... it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.?
?Surely what if I start dating again?! Still didn’t bring happiness.?
My kids always make me happy but they are older living their past lives I still wasn't "happy".?
Ok, so the money would be the answer! Nope.?
Was it removing toxic people from my life? Definitely helpful, still not the “happiness solutionâ€

Even reading my Bible daily wasn’t the end all be all.?
I went searching and searching for what it was that would truly bring me happiness. It NEVER DID!?
Because I was searching for circumstances that would create my happiness! That’s what we do!?
We see our friend with the new car and think that’s what makes her happy. Or the person who promoted in our company or the house being built a few blocks down.?
We’re ALWAYS searching for that solution.?
Guess what I’ve learned?! Just like everything else in life that we want, Joy doesn’t come from anything we achieve or any circumstances.?
But Joy WILL bring more and more of the circumstances we desire!?
We have to stop going for things and start working towards JOY!?
It’s time to stop seeking that "feeling" we have been working so hard to feel and embrace being in the present and enjoying the life we are in. Even the messy, ugly and bad. It is time to appreciate the moment and recognize the small things. Right NOW! Not when circumstances are perfect. NOW!?NOW is your time to find your joy and happiness!
Hope you are liking what you are reading every week, and please share a comment and your thoughts on how you create happiness and joy in your life and better yet, share this with a friend (DM, Email, Social Post, etc.) and don't forget to subscribe and follow me!
