Let Kindness Invite Us to Make More Conscious Choices for Our Future

In previous articles, I shared that kindness is not the same as niceness, that kindness is a powerful choice in any situation, that kindness requires a certain level of maturity and understanding, that it builds bridges, breaks cycles of negativity, that it is non-judgemental and is its own reward.?

Shortly, humans thrive when they genuinely do something for someone else without expecting anything in return. Many scientific researches have found that the giver of kindness is even more fulfilled than the receiver of the kindness.

As I am studying in depth the effects of kindness on our physical and mental health for my upcoming book ‘The Path of Powerful Kindness’, it is clear that pure and genuine kindness has only benefits.

Let this path of Powerful Kindness inspire us also to start making different choices which are beneficial for future generations.?I am sure we can do better.

Let kindness inspire us to choose Collaboration over Competition.?

For millennia we have chosen to run our entire society on competition, which made us and the planet end up exhausted. We are pushed to compete from an early age, from kindergarten on, we have to be the first, the best, the prettiest, the smartest. That competitiveness is deeply ingrained in our culture and has lead to very destructive results. There is surely nothing wrong with striving for excellence, but we are in competition with no one.

Instead of competition, instead of putting others down to be the first, let’s focus on collaboration, on supporting others, we absolutely rise by lifting others, our light shines brighter every time we use it to ignite someone else. And not only on a personal level, for companies, organisations, even on a global level, only collaboration will save us.

Let kindness inspire us also to choose Reverence over Domination.?

Domination was the choice of that past, we wanted to dominate the planet, dominate other human beings, but instead of domination let’s choose reverence. A reverence for life, a profound realisation of our place in the Universe. Let’s cultivate a deep respect for life in all its forms, this attitude of respect will no longer accept that humans mistreat other humans, humans mistreat animals out of a misplaced sense of superiority.?

Domination is fear based, the need to be superior to someone else is often an expression of insecurity, the need for a title or material possessions to be more than someone else only expresses that you do not feel worthy enough as you are now.?

A reverence for life, shows a deep understanding that we are part of the Universe and do not need to dominate since we are All One. The moment we Know that, domination will seem irrelevant.

Let kindness inspire us to no longer choose Nurturing over Exploitation.

Let’s stop exploiting people and resources but let’s choose nurturing instead. For so long, we chose to turn others into commodities, we turned the planet into our commodity, with the disastrous result that we can see now.?

Instead of exploiting, let’s nurture our planet, let’s nurture our relationships. The exploitation is a fear based and scarcity based concept. We want to take, take, take out of fear to not have enough instead of nurturing the abundance and richness.?

If we choose nurturing, it is a sign that we are conscious about the important role we play in creating a better future for our children and grandchildren.

And this is what kindness based choices can do for our future.

The 21st century will be the century where the heart will regain its place; which is so necessary for the survival and re-balance of humanity. The future will be kind or will not be at all.?

Kindness is the future.

The paradigm of success saying that money, material possessions, title, fame, ... will bring us happiness and fulfilment is completely outdated and even harmful. Let's deeply question our paradigms and redefine success

My true hope is that we value loving kindness higher than anything else one day.
