? I have never been retained as the manager of a baseball team or been in a senior management position of anything other than a pickup softball team.

However, here is what my instinct tells me.??Jettison those players who are not performing, especially pitchers whose ERA is in the stratosphere and batters who are hovering around and below the Mendoza line.

Let the kids play!?Give Jarren Durand the opportunity to make himself into a major league player.?Give Tanner Houck the baseball every fifth day.?These young people can carry us into the playoffs while some of the others who will go nameless cannot.

Jarren Duran’s almost inside the park homerun was one of the most exciting things I have seen in a long time.?Tanner Houck reminds me of Chris Sale, except he is pitching from the right-hand side, and he does chew gum, always.
