Let it go

Hey lovely?
Let it go.?
“Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway.”
If you didn't recognise this, it’s lyrics from the Disney movie Frozen, which I have watched a total of 1,733 times, give or take.?
My son is obsessed with this movie (see cover photo of his adorable dress ups at home, kindy and friends houses). Thankfully, I love it too. I wanted to share this email for a little while because, honestly, the movies Frozen 1 and 2 have some pretty great life advice that have helped me through a rough couple of months.?
Letting go was something that I learned during my pregnancy with my son back in 2020, also … COVID-19, so we were all forced into this lesson. And it's something I've had to learn and apply in my business as well.?
The more tightly you hold on to something, the more that you dwell on something, the more that you cling to it, the bigger and worse that thing gets. Whether it's a disagreement, whether it's a client or a colleague who said a shitty thing, whether it's something that you wanted to make happen that just isn't happening. Sometimes the best thing to do is let it go.?
Having to play this song at full volume, and scream it along with my son was actually really, really cathartic when over the last few months I was waiting for my house to sell, and then settled. The financial situation I found myself in was out of my hands, it was out of my control and I had to let it go. And that is not easy.?
This advice came to me another time in my life, and it was actually from a psychic. She told me “let it go.” Which was actually in regard to the things in my head that I thought people were saying about me. And I'd been told that by a few people in the months leading up to that reading (which was a fun activity on the last night of the Business Chicks annual members conference). But this time that message settled in and finally I listened. I didlet it go.?
It actually wasn't what people were saying, it was the voices of people from my high school or from my childhood or from years ago, or my own voice from when I was younger saying that I couldn't do it. When actually I could do it and I was doing it.?
So a couple of years ago, getting that message of “let it go”, helped me to take my business to another level. That’s why I’m really listening to these wise Disney words and message, and have in fact taken another message from another song.
Have you heard the Frozen 2 Disney Song, Into the unknown??
Another one we are obsessed with, and the whole movie and its messages have really grown on me.?
The character Elsa is hearing a voice, a calling - but she’s been ignoring it and pushing it down.?
She says “I can hear you, but I won't”. She doesn't want to listen to the voice, which really could be an intuitive voice. But for her, it's a spirit voice, calling her to what is her destiny.
There’s also another beautiful song later in the movie, one where she finally understands who she is and what she was truly put here to do, it’s called “Show Yourself”.?

Both these songs at times in the past few months have made me cry, because I realised it was the message that I needed at the time.
Into the unknown is where I'm going right now with writing a book, setting up a whole new business (yep, details to come) and even selling our house and trying a different way of investing in our future. This is all unknown. For me, it's all new territory. And it's big, big, big stuff.?
What the messages from Frozen really show is that when Elsa does follow the calling, and she does listen to the voice, and she does realise that actually, going into the unknown, is something that she loves. She realises, as I have also reflected on, that going into the unknown is sometimes the most fun? - and it’s what I invite my retreat attendees to do. ?
These messages are also about honouring who you are, and following what you want to do.?
So, I invite you with this email, to let it go!?
To let go of the things that are holding you back and to step into the unknown.?
Because what really is known??
Things can change every day, things do change every day!?
And so let it go my lovely.
I had wanted to write this email for a number of weeks but writing it now was inspired by a conversation with a darling business friend over the weekend. A relaxed conversation with an incredible business friend, whose journey I've been a part of for three years and I've seen grow.?
Sharing these words out loud with “let it go, surrender.”?
It’s about acknowledging the fear and acknowledging the unknown, and welcoming the change. That's what it takes to level up. And that's what it takes to step into the next chapter of your business, the next chapter of your life.?
But we don't have to do it alone. You could do it with support, you can do it with friends, you can do it with business buddies, you can do it with guidance, you don't have to do it alone.?
So my lovely again, I invite you. However you take this interpretation and however you take these words (which I do hope that I do not get in trouble for and fully acknowledge that they come from movies,Disney's Frozen) to let it go.?
And follow that calling… into the unknown.?
Kindest,
Emma “Lovelly” Lovell
P.S. Do you want some support or guidance, coaching??
I absolutely love doing this in my business. That's why I created my hour of power. ? And I actually do have some amazing packs of coaching on offer that you can ask me about as well.?
If you're interested in getting some support in your business, with your travels and bringing more of that into your life or simply working out what is the next step and how do you let go and step into the unknown??
Please write back our power plan please reply to this email and I hope to be speaking with you soon.
