Let It Go!

Let It Go!

Six years ago I had a neighbor whose aunt was the primary caregiver to two young boys. 10 and 8.

Boys will be boys, and they did some things that needed to be addressed and corrected. Ms. Carolyn's favorite saying was "Let It Go!" When whatever it was that caused them to be against one another was over, she would remind them over and over to "Let It Go."

When appropriate, this saying can be a great reminder to ourselves, just like Ms. Carolyn said, "Let It Go!"

1.) Faith Every Day

When you have reached a tipping point that requires you to continue to have faith in your path, or to have the faith to move on, ask yourself this question with a calm mind and let your heart be your guide:

"Is this a time where I should say, 'Let It Go?'"

It could be a relationship, a job, a favor you shouldn't have agreed to do. If your inner voice of faith tells you to do so, "Let It Go."

2.) Joy Every Hour

Joy is something that will be felt at all or one or two of three places when you decide it's time to "Let It Go!" When you've confirmed the decision within yourself to take action, after you have gone through with the action, and in the reflection of yourself before and after. Look for it, and find joy.

3.) Love Every Minute

Being a parent is not a "love every minute" job. Our careers aren't either. Our relationships aren't also. As parents we all know, "love" never leaves us. "Love" never fails. We'll find our footing and continue on in a new and better direction.

4.) Hope In Each Second

"Let It Go" is a jumping-off point to a renewed hope in ourselves and others. I believe in the attitude of wanting everyone to do well. People and situations come into our lives and there is a time to stay and a time to go. Relationships. Careers. All the most important things in life. Be hopeful. Be the person who wants everyone to succeed and reach their full potential.

Identify one thing in your life today where you can say, "Let It Go!" Reflect and take the appropriate action. "Let It Go", is a springboard to new places.

A new fire will be lit on both sides of "Let It Go!"

Until tomorrow,

Choose Hope -
