Let the Children Lead
Let the children lead. This crew is brainstorming their team name so they can come straight at you with an ask for something that matters: creating solutions to homelessness. It’s no secret that criminal justice reform is my main focus when it comes to righting wrongs. And it’s no secret that my child absorbs a lot about inequality. It’s also no secret that she speaks her mind. And her mind is focused on those for whom life has thrown a devastating curveball that left them homeless. Maybe jobless. And she’s been talking about this wrong. About this injustice. And that word got to RunningWorks founder Meredith Dolhare, who offered an opportunity to dig in and work for change.
Zayne and I are the first mother-daughter duo tapped for RunningWorks’ Social Butterfly Mentorship & Fundraising Campaign. We have our new friends Aaliyah and Allie on board for the four-month effort. And let’s be clear, we are not the only team involved in this campaign. But we intend to single ourselves out as champion fundraisers. We intend to win. Meaning we intend to raise more than double what is expected. This is a mighty team, after all: Zayne, Aaliyah and Allie. Link below with more detail and links to donate. Send this team a message that when they lead, change happens.
