Let's chat about ChatGPT...
Yep, I am jumping on the bandwagon a little here... but there needs to be more of an open discussion about this mysterious language model that is taking the world by storm.?
ChatGPT, a language model developed by OpenAI, has become a valuable tool for businesses and individuals who need assistance with writing tasks. The key word here is assistance, it assists. This wonderful piece of seemingly genius software cannot innovate, and it cannot breathe life into a brand for example.?
However, it is important to note that ChatGPT has become a prominent tool within the creative sector, but we need to look past the shiny potential opportunities ChatGPT offers.?
Here are three reasons why:
ChatGPT is a tool, not a professional: While ChatGPT is highly advanced and can generate human-like text, it is not a professional or an expert. A copywriter has the ability to understand your target audience, your brand, and your marketing goals and tailor their writing accordingly. ChatGPT does not have this ability. Think of it like a clever robotic parrot that can regurgitate content and information that is already out there.?
ChatGPT lacks creativity: ChatGPT is based on a vast amount of data, but it can only generate text based on what it has been trained on. A creative team member, on the other hand, has the ability to come up with new and unique ideas that will make your content stand out.?
No innovation here my friends, no growth, no uniqueness. If all brands began to use Chat GPT, each sector would end up with one, monotone voice, imagine how boring this would become. Every Skincare brand using the words of those that went before, and every new start-up churning out the same ideas and trying to get you to do something in the same way. Our world would lack uniqueness.?

ChatGPT can't provide a human touch: Although ChatGPT can generate text that is similar to human writing, it can't replicate the human touch that comes with a personal touch. A skilled copywriter for example can bring a personal touch to your content that will connect with your audience on an emotional level. It doesn't think how we think, or how your ideal client thinks. So really, the content it churns out that could be used within a marketing setting is not fit for purpose.?
In conclusion, while ChatGPT can be a useful tool for writing tasks, it is not a replacement for your creative team. A creative team member can provide a level of expertise, creativity and human touch that ChatGPT can't replicate. It's important to remember that when it comes to writing for your organisation, it's best to work with a professional who can understand your brand and target audience and can create content that will resonate with them.
The robots won't take our creative jobs yet, I promise.?
