Lessons Learned from "Little Drummer Boy"

Music is inspiring. Especially, Christmas music. A personal favorite is "Little Drummer Boy."
There are lessons and great inspiration in this song. Follow me on this:
The drummer boy showed up. He was available.
He showed up with limited resources. Yet, that didn't discourage him.
He showed up with a servant's heart and attitude.
Even with limited resources, he believed he could contribute.
He asked permission. He was humble in his desire to serve.
Then the best lesson of all. He says, "I played my best for Him."
Playing our best. Performing our best. Giving our best. Serving our best. Contributing our best. Having the confidence to offer our best.
These are great lessons to carry into this, the Christmas season. They are also great lessons to carry into each season, each of our days, each of our interactions with others.
"I played my best for Him."
