Lessons Learned From The Legendary Bob Proctor

Bob Proctor is one of the world’s most influential forces in the world of possibility thinking, prosperity and personal growth.

On February 3, 2022, at the age of 87, his body left this physical world, yet his lessons, legacy and spirit continue to live on.?

I had the pleasure of attending his incredible celebration of life and took 14 pages of notes.

?

You see, Bob was a student of life and of himself. And he knew you could choose to accept the losses or learn the lessons from any situation. He learned and applied the learnings of many lessons in his life, and together with Sandy Gallagher, created the Proctor Gallagher Institute that impacts millions of lives worldwide.

Les Brown called Bob “the one who motivates motivators.”

Below are some of the lessons I, along with many other students of his have learned from Bob over the years.

The Power of Giving

Bob was the ultimate giver. He was wealthy because he gave. He lived in the spirit and frequency of generosity.

A powerful practice he learned from his mother when he was young. Growing up in WWII days, scarcity was prevalent in all aspects of life and while his mother didn’t have much, there was a family that lived down the street didn’t have coal to heat their house. When Bob mentioned this to her, she gave him a $20 bill and asked Bob to go buy $10 of coal (a lot of money at the time and half of what his mother had) and give it to the family. She didn’t even now them.

Bob was always generous with his time and money and the more he earned, the more generous he was. One charity he sponsored a lot was the Unstoppable Foundation that creates schools and communities in Africa and teaches principles of leadership and abundance to students so their communities can thrive.

Be Clear On Your Priorities & Do Whatever It Takes To Make Them Happen

Bob’s goal was to have a company that operated all over the world and early on in his career in the world of personal growth and development he had an opportunity to raise his 3 kids, who were teenagers at the time.

Family came first and he prioritized taking jobs in the Toronto area so he could be with his family over travelling the world to develop his career at the time.

His son Brian remembers his father being around and creating special intimate moments with his kids each day, always instilling confidence, love and light into them.

Make People Feel Special?

Bob’s Son Brian was not confident when attending a new school in fourth grade and recalled his father suggesting he make everyone he come in contact with feel important. “See MMFI (make me feel important) on their forehead,” he’d say.

Right to his last days prior to his passing, Bob always made people feel seen, special and important. He’d learn their names, give them genuine compliments, be interested in them and say thank you for the service they provided. Leaving people with the impression of increase is key!

Money: A Mirror & Magnifier ?

If you don’t like your results in life, you’ve got to make some changes to yourself, your life and your belief system. Because the results you get in any area are a direct reflection of your mental programming.

There are three things people universally desire: to be happy, healthy and wealthy. While happy and healthy are important, money is the only one of the three that can actually be measured to the penny.?

Bob always asked people how much money they earned to see where their belief system was set.

Many people are afraid of money because they don’t want to be perceived as greedy, selfish or uncaring. Others crave it and are bitter they don’t have it. Money comes to you when you are in alignment with it. And money is a magnifier and will make you more of who you are.

At one time, Bob was earning a lot of money and spending it foolishly. When he realized this, he began to change how he showed up in life and shifted the money he was earning to do good. He felt better and others thrived as a result.?

Work With The Law

The laws of the universe are unseen forces that most people don’t understand or even know are there. Bob not only understood the law, he worked with it and taught it to his students world-wide to open up the world of what’s possible.

When you understand how the world works, you can make better choices, have the confidence to go for bigger goals and have the faith to move forward in spite of insurmountable obstacles.

He knew he was not a body and he simply lived in one. He understood the difference between the physical and spiritual worlds and expressed this through every cell of his body.

Go For What You Really Want, Don’t Hold Back And Challenge Conventional Thinking

Bob believed there is greatness in all of us. He truly believed that you’re capable of doing anything! He’d never let you settle or say “I can’t.” Bob would be the first one to cheerlead you on to go for your dream NOW. Why wait?

He taught his students to think FROM possibility and beyond the boundaries of commo thinking.

When Mary Morrisey was going to purchase her dream home, she was applying for a mortgage and Bob challenged her. He asked why she was applying for a mortgage and why she didn’t simply go out and earn the money to buy the house. Her spine straightened up when she realized she hadn’t even considered that possibility.

So often we settle for less than we’re capable of or create goals that we feel obligated to have to serve others, leaving ourselves behind. This is no way to live.

You’ve got to go for what you want and follow your passions and dreams. It’s the most fulfilling way to live. Find your purpose and live it, because it’s something people will benefit from long after you’re gone.

A common mission Bob Proctor and Jane Willhite shared was achieving world peace one mind at a time. That’s beautiful!

You Must Study And Apply It

Peggy McColl quoted Vernon Howard “you can’t escape a prison if you don’t know you’re in one.”

This is truly how many people live, in a mental prison of their minds, and this is something Bob has taught his students how to step out of.

You step into your new world of possibility through study. Be a student with purpose and that leads to faith based on understanding and this must be done 365 days a year, just like Hollywood producer, Phil Goldfine.

Bob was a diligent student and through that became a visionary leader. This is what he teaches his students to do as well.

You don’t know how close you are to the finish line

You never know how much time you have before you leave this earth. Les Brown reminded us that it’s key to never loose hunger and persistence is something Bob reminded us all of the time.?

So often when you want to stop is when you’re about to cross the finish line.

Let things go and truly live your best life.

Because you were born rich (just like Bob Proctor’s book). You may be short of a little cash. However, you’re born rich with potential and it’s up to you to unleash it!

The Sunny Side of the Street

In closing, I know I’m certainly a different person because of him. I know myself better than I ever have before. I like and appreciate myself better than I ever have before. I’m so full of myself that I genuinely do love myself. And I’m proud of it. Thank you, Bob Proctor for showing me the light and continuing to teach me lessons each and every day.

Joe Dicky ended Bob’s celebration singing Bob’s favorite song, Frank Sinatra’s “Sunny Side of the Street.” Bob had a handful of songs that inspired and lifted him up and loved referencing their lyrics. So here they are….?

Sunny Side of the Street Lyrics

Grab your coat and snatch your hat, leave your worries on the doorstep

Just direct your feet to the sunny side of the street

Can't you hear that pitter pat and that happy tune is your step

Life can be so sweet, on the sunny side of the street?

I used to walk in the shade with the blues on parade

No longer afraid, the rover crossed over

If I never had a cent I'll be rich as Rockfeller

The gold dust at my feet on the sunny side of the street

I used to walk in the shade with those blues on parade

But I'm not afraid 'cause the rover, he got over

If I never had a cent, I'd be rich as Rockfeller

All those chicks 'round my feet on the sunny, sunny side of the street?
